Duck Calling

Over the years, duck and goose calling has become an art not only practiced by hunters to attract birds, but by experts competing for recognition and prizes.  Glen Phillips of Ocean City, Maryland, is an expert duck and goose caller and call maker.  His son Hunter is a champion caller in his own right.  The Phillips organize duck and goose calling contests in Maryland and all around the Mid-Atlantic region.

At the Festival, Glen and Hunter demonstrated and explained their calls.  Hear some of the realistic calls and learn about what competition judges listen for by clicking on the audio clips to the left.
