COMING TO THE FESTIVAL

Joseph Séraphin Emile, Cazal
In Cazal, all parts of the banana plant are used, from the bark to the leaves. Joseph Séraphin Emile and other artisan-farmers use the banana plant to create a wide range of accessories such as bags, hats, belts and many more marketable items. Emile is a master at creating place mats from various banana Wbers.

Marie Manolette Honoré, Cazal
With assistance from the government of Japan, local artisan- farmers such as Marie Manolette Honoré have been learning to make high-quality paper from banana pulp.
