Nuestra Música: Music in Latino Culture is a four-year program that explores and celebrates the rich and diverse Latino culture in the United States and abroad. The focus in 2005, the program's second year, was "Music Builds Community." National and international artists, including groups that recently have recorded for Smithsonian Folkways Recordings' acclaimed Tradiciones/Traditions series, performed at five evening concerts highlighting regional music such as the Mexican son and cumbia, exploring the relationship between music and social change, and probing African- and Native American-based traditions in Latino music. Vengan a gozar de la bella música y a bailar!
