Dr. Ed Miller (Edinburgh/Austin, TX)
—Singer, folklorist, teacher, well known to American audiences as a performer at festivals, clubs, Highland Games and Robert Burns Suppers. Also hosts "Folkways" on KUT-FM Austin; leads folk song-based tours to Scotland and teaches at folk music camps throughout the United States.

Fin Moore (Dunkeld)
—An excellent piper, Fin will also be assisting his father, Hamish Moore (see below), in demonstrating the making of Highland and Scottish Bellows Blown pipes.
 
Karine Polwart (Edinburgh)
—This important young singer and songwriter is already a veteran of several major groups, including Battlefield Band, and is currently performing with Malinky.

Anne Reid (Cullerlie, Aberdeenshire)
—With her late husband Tam Reid (who was renowned as "King of the Bothy Ballad"), Anne transformed the traditional farm where he had lived since 1935 into Cullerlie Farm Park, a small agricultural museum. For many years, the Reids' ceilidhs and festivals at Cullerlie have been a mainstay of the Aberdeenshire cultural scene. An excellent singer in her own right, Anne is also an excellent cook and will be demonstrating her skills in both areas during the Festival.
 
Fiona Ritchie (Perthshire/Matthews, NC)
—Host/producer "The Thistle & Shamrock®" from National Public Radio. Broadcasting weekly across the United States, Ms. Ritchie is one of the best known Scottish voices on American media. She will be hosting concerts and presenting and interviewing Scottish performers at the Festival.

Dr. Ian Russell (Aberdeen)
—The Director, Elphinstone Institute, University of Aberdeen, Dr. Russell is an eminent folklorist and researcher of northeastern Scotland culture and will assist with artist interviews and concert presentations.

—Famed throughout the U.K. for their presentation of children's songs. Smithsonian Folkways Recording has just released The Singing Kettle: Singalong Songs from Scotland in conjunction with the Festival.

Sheena Wellington (Dundee)
—Excellent performer and eloquent expert on Scottish music and culture. Wellington is probably best remembered for her a capella rendition of Burns's "A Man's a Man for A' That" at the opening of Scottish Parliament in 1999 and her participation in the Scottish Women's Tour.

Gary West (Pithlochry, Perthshire)
—A noted piper, who played for 18 years with the acclaimed Vale of Atholl pipe band. A mainstay of the Scottish folk music scene, West joined Coelbeg in 1988 and was a founding member of the Scottish supergroup Clan Alba. In addition to being much in demand as a musician, he is a full-time lecturer in the University of Edinburgh's Department of Celtic and Scottish Studies, and a host of BBC Radio Scotland's weeking piping program, Pipeline. www.garywest.co.uk

 
The Wrigley Sisters/Jennifer & Hazel Wrigley
(Orkney Islands)
—Excellent young fiddle and piano virtuosos from Orkney. The Wrigleys are preserving Orkney's local musical traditions while at the same time composing important new material. They are also outstanding spokespeople for Orcadian culture. www.wrigleysisters.com
